Terms and conditions

1. Provider and services

Lessons are given by VP Swimschool, J. Heurtel, a sole proprietorship registered in the commercial register of the Canton of Geneva (UID CHE-284.405.473), hereinafter “VP Swimschool”.

VP Swimschool offers private swimming lessons (one swimmer per instructor) and semi-private lessons (exactly two swimmers of compatible levels) at the Bains de Cressy, as well as private lessons at home, in the client’s own pool.

2. Prices

Bains de Cressy:

• Private lesson for children (2½ up to and including age 5), 30 min: CHF 60 per lesson; package of 10 lessons: CHF 550.
• Semi-private lesson (2 swimmers), 30 min: CHF 90 per lesson in total; package of 10 lessons: CHF 850 in total.
• Private lesson for children over 5, teenagers and adults, 45 min: CHF 90 per lesson; package of 10 lessons: CHF 850.

At home or in a private pool:

• Private lesson, 30 min, any age: CHF 90 per lesson; package of 10 lessons: CHF 850. Other home formats: on request.

At the Bains de Cressy, the lesson price includes the swimmer’s entry. An accompanying person who wishes to use the facilities pays their own entry. No travel fee is charged for lessons at the Bains de Cressy.

3. Booking

• The client chooses an available time slot.
• A booking becomes final, and the slot is held, only once payment is confirmed or a valid credit from a compatible package is used. Until then, no slot is booked.
• A request sent by WhatsApp, by phone, through a form or from the app is not a booking.
• For a lesson at home, in a private pool, or any request requiring prior approval, VP Swimschool sends the client a proposal stating the time slot and the final price. The booking is only confirmed after payment or use of a compatible credit.
• The VP Swimschool app is in private testing: booking and payment in the app are not yet open to the public.

4. Packages

10-lesson packages are paid before use and are valid for 3 months from purchase. They apply to the location, format and duration for which they were purchased. They are non-refundable, subject to mandatory legal provisions.

5. Cancellation

• Cancellation by the client 24 hours or more before the lesson: the lesson is credited back to the client’s account.
• Cancellation less than 24 hours before the lesson, or no-show: the lesson is due and counted.
• Lessons and packages are non-refundable, subject to mandatory legal provisions (same rule as in the VP Swimschool app).
• If VP Swimschool has to cancel a lesson, it is rescheduled or credited back at no cost to the client.

6. Lessons at home and in private pools

• The instructor comes to the client at the agreed time. The lesson is one-to-one, for a child or an adult.
• The client provides an accessible, clean and working pool. The client remains its owner and is responsible for it (installation, maintenance, water quality), without prejudice to VP Swimschool’s professional obligations in conducting the lesson.
• When the swimmer is a minor, a responsible adult is present on site for the whole lesson.
• If safety conditions, the temperature or the condition of the water do not allow the lesson to take place, it is postponed or credited back.
• Travel fees may apply to home lessons only; they are always stated to the client before the lesson is confirmed.

7. Payment

Accepted payment methods are specified when the lesson is confirmed. In the VP Swimschool app, payment is made by card on a secure Stripe page or with a compatible package credit; this feature is in testing and not yet open to the public.

8. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Geneva, subject to applicable mandatory rules, in particular those protecting consumers.
